Smythes Creek - Landscaping Project
March 13, 2025

This Smythes Creek landscaping project transformed the outdoor space into a functional and visually appealing garden.

A sleek steel edge garden bed was installed, creating clean, defined lines that separate the planting areas from the lawn. This modern touch adds a crisp, structured look while ensuring soil and mulch stay neatly contained. To complement the garden bed, a sturdy climbing frame was added, offering vertical interest and a support structure for flowering vines or edible climbers, adding both beauty and productivity to the space.

The existing turf was carefully removed to make way for a larger garden area, allowing room for a thoughtfully curated selection of plants and trees. A winding path of natural steppers now leads through the garden, creating an inviting, organic feel while ensuring easy access to different areas. The planting scheme includes a mix of resilient, low-maintenance plants and trees that bring seasonal color, texture, and shade to the garden.

To promote sustainability, a water-efficient dripper line system was installed, delivering moisture directly to plant roots to minimize water waste. This is paired with a layer of water saver mulch, which helps retain soil moisture, regulate temperature, and suppress weeds — ensuring the garden stays healthy and vibrant with minimal maintenance. The end result is a balanced, eco-friendly space that combines style, functionality, and long-term sustainability.
