This project started with the front yard , completed about a month ago. The scope included:
Excavation through irrigation, steel and Mawson toppings
Planted out using the client’s own plants from her previous home
Installed a full Rain Bird Wi‑Fi 6‑station irrigation controller , servicing both front and future backyard zones

Fast forward to the backyard , which began as a blank canvas and is now coming together beautifully! Here’s what we’ve completed:

Concrete footings and construction of a Sproutwell hothouse
Shed pad preparation, followed by shed installation by the shed company

Wicking veggie beds and pods – filled with soil and connected to irrigation for easy filling

Returning to a property we installed 4 years ago for maintenance

Four years ago, we were commissioned to transform this space with a thoughtful, natural design. Around five years ago, we installed the original rock wall and allowed the grass to flow right up to it. Over time, the client found it tricky to maintain and has now decided to upgrade both ease of mowing and irrigation.

We’ve installed pop-up sprinklers, steel edging, and a stone border to create a clean, low-maintenance edge that makes mowing simple and keeps everything looking sharp. A big job in Mt Pleasant - but satisfying results!

This Mt Pleasant property had become heavily overgrown front and back, and the transformation took nearly two weeks of steady work!

We removed five truckloads of green waste to reset the space, dug out the existing paths and relaid them with new material, turned the soil, and added organic matter to improve long-term soil health.

The garden was mulched and planted with a range of natives and trees. We also installed new veggie garden beds, set up an automatic irrigation timer, and repaired damaged brickwork.

The result is a clean, functional, and much healthier outdoor environment ready to grow.

After 3 full days of clean-out in an overgrown organic garden, we tackled tons of stubborn weeds and gave this beautiful space a much-needed refresh.

To help keep those weeds from coming back, we installed geo-fabric under all the paths —a simple but effective and eco-friendly step to reduce future growth. Then we finished it off with a whopping 20m³ of mulch to lock in moisture, suppress weeds, and give the whole garden a clean, polished look.

This recent Ballarat North landscaping project combined smart design, sustainability, and practical upgrades to transform these yards into functional and vibrant garden spaces, perfect for the whole family!

The work centered around the installation of steel garden edging, which provided clean, modern lines and effective containment for garden beds. A smart irrigation system was also installed and retrofitted into the existing fernery to ensure efficient water use while keeping everything green!

Drainage was addressed, vital given the limited access and the need to manage water effectively in a densely planted environment. Planting included a lush selection of ferns, a structured bay tree hedge, and complementary greenery, all chosen to thrive in the local conditions. In a cost-saving and environmentally friendly move, part of a tree on site was chipped and used as mulch throughout the garden beds. The remaining stump was left as a decorative piece for the kids to paint!

Over the six-day job, carried out under access constraints, the team removed two full truckloads of old materials from the backyard to make way for the new design. These trees were carefully selected for their ability to provide both privacy and a windbreak, while also enhancing the overall aesthetics of the property with lush greenery. As the trees mature, they will form a continuous hedge, creating a natural barrier that will block out unwanted views, reduce wind exposure, and add value to the property.

To ensure the trees thrive, 700 meters of irrigation was installed, delivering consistent moisture to support their growth. Additionally, 1,500 meters of chicken wire was used to protect the young trees from wildlife, ensuring they can develop into a dense, healthy tree line. This project not only improves the property's functionality but also contributes to a more serene and beautiful environment for years to come.
